2020 Jeep Compass

June 22nd, 2020 · Comments Closed · Jeep

The 2020 Jeep Compass is a comfortable, capable off-road vehicle with an excellent infotainment system. The 2020 Compass promotes the adventurous lifestyle of Jeep in a more city-friendly package than other models that carry the iconic seven-slot grille. Each model offers a four-wheel drive, and the Trailhawk version can really tackle mud and rocks. While the Jeep Compass stands behind the best crossovers and SUVs in 2020, it will satisfy brand loyalists who want practical and recognizable transport.

However, the sluggish engine, poor fuel economy, and small cargo area drag it to the bottom of our compact SUV rankings. Similarly, the Advanced Safety package unlocks even more desirable content such as customizable cruise control, automatic high beams, forward collision, a leather gearbox. The top-level Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk finishes get a new Luxury Seat package that offers a driver-adjustable seat, memory, and ventilated front seats.

2020 Jeep Compass Interior

Inside, the Jeep Compass’s cabin has a stylish style and good build quality. The choice of materials is unsurpassed, although the top trim is a bit nicer. The Compass is a two-way SUV with five seats. The spacious interior offers enough space for four adults. The front seats offer excellent road views. However, the seats are not as comfortable as in some rivals, and only a few upgrades are available. Jeep 2020 Compass has the typical collection of LATCH connectors: two complete sets of rear outboard hardware and an upper tire anchor for the rear center seat.

A comfortable usage rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is still pending for the 2020 model, but the nearly identical 2019 Compass received the lowest rating from Poor because its lower anchors are so challenging to use. Jeep’s Uconnect system is one of our favorite infotainment settings, and we’re glad to have it included in the Compass range by default. The Uconnect system is simple to use and responds quickly to input, and no matter which compass you choose, you’ll be treated to a well-organized touch-screen infotainment system with a USB port and auxiliary input.

2020 Jeep Compass Engine

Each finish has a 180-hp four-cylinder engine. Depending on the model, this 2.4-liter engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, an automatic six-speed, or a nine-speed automatic. The 2020 Compass gets an estimated EPA value of 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. These fuel economy ratings are a little below average for the class, and many competitors cost less fuel.

2020 Jeep Compass Safety

Standard safety features include a rearview camera. Many of the compass’s leading compact SUV rivals have more standard features, but for 2020, Jeep has expanded its list of safety upgrades to every extension. Available safety options include full-speed forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic warning, lane warning, lane assistance, automatic large-beam headlights, rain sensor wipers, and 2020 Jeep Compass rear parking sensors.
