2014 Dodge Challenger is marketed under the name of three different generations of cars from the Dodge division of Chrysler. Dodge Challenger silver was produced in 1959. From 1970-1974, the first generation Dodge Challenger pony car built by Chrysler E platform, replacement of major components with the Plymouth Barracuda. The second generation was a badge designed 1978-1983 Mitsubishi Galant Lambda. The third and current generation, was born in 2008 as a competitor developed the fifth generation Ford Mustang and the reintroduction of the fifth generation of the Chevrolet Camaro.
