2021 Bentley Flying Spur
The 2021 Bentley Flying Spur is one of the most luxurious and high-tech cars on sale. However, its trunk may be larger, and automatic cruise control should be standard. The 2021 Bentley Flying Spur brings together every element of Bentley’s extraordinary DNA is perfect, seamless balance. The Bentley Flying Spur has been redesigned for the 2020 model year, so 2021 brings only minor adjustments. The most important among them is a new optional four-seater setup that replaces the rear seat with two buckets with a fixed center console that runs the entire length of the sedan cabin. The interior can now be ordered with a carbon fiber finish or a machined metal finish called Côtes de Geneve.
Bentley customers can choose from one of a variety of composition themes, such as Cool Harmony, Storm Noir, or Alter Ego when ordering their Flying Spur, but we would suggest going with a fully designed design to make it unique for you. A seemingly endless variety of exterior colors and style choices await you in the Bentley Mulliner customization program. The same goes for appointments inside the house, which can include different types of wood, the leather of different colors, and polished metal accents.
2021 Bentley Flying Spur Interior
Inside, Bentley’s interior designers have managed to maintain the brand’s fine and proper style, whilst incorporating modern technological features. A remote-controlled touchscreen controller mounted on the back of the center console allows riders on the seat to adjust certain things without asking the driver for assistance. You can use it, for example, to open and close the window screens, adjust the cabin climate and activate the rear seat massagers. A spacious sized trunk provides plenty of space for luggage, suitcases of champagne or a day of impulse shopping on Rodeo Drive. A large 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen is beautifully nestled between large pieces of wood trim on the Flying Spur’s dashboard.
The Bentley will swap the static infotainment screen with a rotating screen that, as you may have guessed, will rotate the screen in the dashboard and bring out a wood panel with three analog rotary knobs. Passengers can connect to the Wi-Fi hotspot, and those with compatible smartphones will enjoy Spur’s Apple CarPlay integration. Bentley offers a stereo standard with ten speakers but will install one of the two premium audio systems for more coins.
2021 Bentley Flying Spur Engine
All 2021 Flying Spurs have an eight-speed automatic dual-clutch automatic transmission and a powerful twin-turbo engine. The entry-level model is powered by a 542 hp V-8, but we recommend upgrading to the 626 hp W-12 engine. With the 12-cylinder under the hood, the Flying Spur never wants power; in fact, it can show its taillights to many sports cars of the best level in a drag race. On our test track, it jumped to 60 km / h in just 3.5 seconds. When we take the Flying Spur for a short ride near Monaco, we find that it is a much more athletic driver than we expected. The honor for that agility should be attributed to the sedan’s adaptive suspension and rear-wheel system.
According to the Flying Spur’s fuel consumption of the EPA, it’s for a pickup rather than a sedan, earning 12 mpg city, 19 mpg highway, and 15 mpg combined. Fuel consumption ratings for the V-8 powered variant are not yet available; Bentley says the V-8 engine can deactivate cylinders as they sail for better efficiency, but we do not expect a miracle. The Flying Spur’s main competitor, the Rolls-Royce Ghost does not fare better here, but the Mercedes-Maybach S560 manages to earn a 25-mpg highway estimate, making it a better choice for those who want to save fuel.
2021 Bentley Flying Spur Safety
Neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) tested the Flying Spur with a collision. Bentley offers several driver assistance functions; unfortunately many of them cost extra. Key safety features include adaptive cruise control, adaptive cruise control, car emergency brake, forward collision assistance, and warning, and night vision for the 2021 Bentley Flying Spur variants.
