Introducing America 2015 Volvo V60 midsize wagon filled an important alignment of the Swedish automotive, vacuum created when the compact V50 is interrupted and full-size vans V70. Essentially, the family version of the Volvo S60 sedan, the V60 adds unique style and over 20 cubic feet of flexible capacity while commendable performance share his brother, interior cargo, fuel economy, technology and security.
2015 Volvo V60 T5 Engine
Elegant 2015 Volvo V60 wagon – dare we say, even sexy, style may be the first thing that catches the eye, but is only part of the appeal of this new model. Less obvious but equally important is the latest application of the new Volvo homegrown “Drive-E” series engine in the base model T5 front wheel drive. Its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivers brisk acceleration, while managing to gain an impressive EPA fuel economy rating of 29 mpg combined.
Other pluses include the V60 more attractive than you would expect from a Volvo management, especially when equipped with firmer suspension Sport option package. The handsome and well-crafted interior, comfort front seats and a full complement of the latest safety features may not be so surprising, but are to emphasize it.
The 2015 Volvo V60 T5 has a couple of minor shortcomings, including less legroom for rear seat and maximum load capacity of its main rival BMW. It is also disappointing that the excellent new Drive-E engine is not available in models of all-wheel drive, which make do with considerably less efficient drag five and six cylinders.
The 2015 Volvo V60 T5 has a shortage of competitors, but those looking for a luxury car such sports will want to check them all. The BMW 328i xDrive offers a quieter ride and more precise, along with an ultra-efficient diesel engine, while the Audi A4 Allroad based on height provides superior ride and first class cabin style handling. They only offered with AWD. Volvo XC70, a slightly rugged V70 wagon version, also worth considering for people looking for something bigger and more compatible with a lifestyle outdoors.
Against all these strong competitors, we think 2015 Volvo V60 combination of style, performance and utility become an attractive option for those who need more versatility than a small luxury sedan, but also greater flexibility and efficiency than a compact crossover.
2015 Volvo V60 T5 Driving Impressions
With a long history of building long trucks on utility and short in the verve of the company, which could be forgiven for his skepticism about the performance of the 2015 Volvo V60. Which only makes it even more impressive the first test drive.
Equipped with the new Drive-E turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the 2015 Volvo V60 T5 accelerates strongly without undue hesitation or racket. The new eight-speed automatic offers rapid change, almost imperceptible on their own, and responds well to run up and down through the gears via the shift paddles available. The turbocharged five-cylinder engine that comes with T5 AWD model also offers brisk acceleration (even worse fuel economy), while the 2015 Volvo V60 T5 R-Design is by far the most powerful car in this segment certainly small.
Through twists, 2015 Volvo V60 T5 steering response and feedback commendable V60 offers a reassuring amount of effort. We do not call the 2015 Volvo V60 T5 sports car, but not a grocery getter sleepy, either. Overall, we like the balanced approach for mounting and handling capabilities. The Sport package available more sharpens handling, but the journey of another soft, comfortable way can be a little too rigid due to the firmer suspension and larger wheels.
